July Victory Garden Certification Course

Aloha Resiliency and the Emalani Social Justice Incubator are teaming together to offer a 4 week Victory Garden Certification Course at the Emalani Organic Community Garden, Davies Hall at St. Andrew’s Cathedral 229 Queen Emma Square, Honolulu.

This 4 week course will teach you everything you need to know to start and maintain a resilient, beyond organic food ecosystem whether its in your backyard, containers in your lanai, or a community space. Learn the scientifically proven methods that support a healthy soil food web and allow you to grow more food in less space. For beginners to experienced gardeners. Join the plant nerd party!

July 6th, 1-5pm: Planning  – site and plant selection, raised beds, choosing containers

July 13th, 1-5pm: Getting Started – soil preparation, seed starting and transplanting, composting, wise water use

July 20th, 1-5pm: Pest Management – garden pests, beneficial insects, pest triangle, weeds, diseases

July 27th, 1-5pm: Harvesting – storing fruits and vegetables, garden food safety, seed saving
